Louisville hosted the opening two rounds of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament for eight years running. The Cardinals made it to the Final Four twice throughout that time.

11th-seeded Auburn of Corvallis, Oregon, is predicted to face U of L in the first round. No. 3 seed Oregon State will serve as the host. These predictions meant that the Cardinals would play the Beavers or 14th-seeded California Baptist next, and if they won, they would have the opportunity to go to Albany, New York, for the second weekend of the tournament.
Louisville is expected to play North Carolina if it wants to make it to the Sweet 16 for the eighth consecutive year. One of the nine ACC teams that is seen as a lock for the NCAA Tournament is the Tar Heels, who are projected as the seventh seed.
