Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that Bryan Mbeumo has undergone ankle surgery following an injury sustained in the defeat to Brighton and is set to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

The Cameroon striker will also miss the Africa Cup of Nations which starts in January. Bryan is a positive guy, he will come back stronger, Frank said. He has a very good mindset.

The 24-year-old sustained the injury in the Bees’ 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in December.
