Two Texans Heading To Orlando For Pro Bowl

Will Anderson Jr. and Laremy Tunsil head to Orlando to represent the Houston Texans in the Pro Bowl.

Will Anderson Jr. and Laremy Tunsil will don the Houston Texans logo one more time before looking ahead to the 2024 season.

Tunsil and Anderson were both named to the AFC Pro Bowl rosters after dominant 2023 campaigns and now head down to Orlando, Fla., for a week of fun-filled activities. Tunsil was voted a starter during the initial voting. Anderson replaced Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby last week after he was ruled out due to injury.

Drafted third overall last April out of Alabama, Anderson lived up to the draft hype after surpassing Mario Williams and J.J. Watt for the most sacks by a Texans rookie in franchise history with seven quarterback takedowns. His 67 pressures were also the most by a rookie defensive player, as were his 10.5 tackles for loss.

Tunsil, one of the league’s top tackles, allowed 10 pressures and four sacks this season against rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Tunsil’s 84.9 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus ranked fourth among offensive tackles and first in the AFC.

Tunsil inked a three-year extension last offseason to become the league’s highest-paid tackle. The accolade marks his fourth Pro Bowl appearance since joining the Texans in 2019.

Several other Texans, including Stroud, defensive back Derek Stingley Jr., defensive end Jonathan Greenard and receiver Nico Collins could join the duo depending on opt-outs later this week.

Festivities begin Thursday, Feb. 1, with the skills challenge, which will be broadcast live on ESPN from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET on the Pro Bowl Skills Show and continue Sunday, Feb. 4, culminating in flag football.
