Several High Profile Teams Including Knicks In Pursuit Of Experienced Guard

Shooting machine making big difference for Knicks

As the NBA trade deadline approaches on February 8, Portland Trail Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon is drawing interest from several teams. The Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Houston Rockets are among the main clubs evaluating players in the upper echelon of point guards, and Brogdon is seen as a potential target.

While the Lakers may not have strong interest in Brogdon, viewing him as, at best, a lateral move from D’Angelo Russell, the Rockets and Knicks are reportedly looking at Brogdon as someone who can effectively run the second-unit offense. Jalen Brunson’s impressive performance for the Knicks and Fred VanVleet’s contributions for the Rockets have been notable, but both teams may see Brogdon as an additional asset to bolster their rosters.

The Knicks have already made a significant move by acquiring OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors, positioning themselves as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 28-17 record. On the other hand, despite the offseason acquisitions of VanVleet and Dillon Brooks, the Rockets find themselves with a 20-23 record, currently 11th in the Western Conference.

Brogdon, under contract through the next season, has been a consistent performer for the Blazers, averaging 15.7 points with a 42.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc and contributing 5.3 assists per game in 35 appearances.
