Bears Make Practice Squad Moves

The Bears have shuffled around their practice squad.

On Tuesday, the Chicago Bears released quarterback Trace McSorley from their practice squad while signing defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour and safety Adrian Colbert to the practice squad.

They added McSorley after Justin Fields injured his thumb, so they’d have a viable QB3 around, just in case. However, with Fields back and Tyson Bagent and Nathan Peterman under contract, McSorley’s time in Chicago has ended.

Colbert, a 30-year-old with 41 career games played, was with the Bears last year for a couple of games and was around in the offseason but was released with an injury settlement in August.

The Bears are Dwumfour’s (6’1”, 296 pounds) sixth NFL team since being a UDFA from the Jets in 2021. He’s played in 12 career games for the Texans and 49ers.

In case you missed it, the Washington Commanders signed defensive end Jalen Harris off Chicago’s practice squad yesterday.
