Other possibilities, according to TeamTalk, are on the table, and Newcastle has apparently been offered the chance to sign free agent Xeka.
Xeka, 29, is now without a club after his contract with Rennes expired in the summer. He has previously been linked with Arsenal, and his game is heavily influenced by German icon Toni Kroos.
The midfielder has extensive European experience and might serve as an inexpensive stopgap for the Mags.
